After a run of poor results, Czech national team coach Michal Bilek says he is abandoning plans to field an experimental team in today’s (Tuesday’s) friendly against the USA. (Because of the time difference, the game will kick off in the early hours of Wednesday morning Czech time.)

Following Saturday’s disappointing 2-1 loss to Turkey, Bilek is now expected to select the most experienced players available for tonight’s match at Rentschler Field, a stadium in East Hartford, Connecticut mainly used by the University of Connecticut’s American football team.

The injured Ondrej Mazuch is set to be replaced in central defence by Tomas Sivok, and Libor Sionko, Jan Polak and David Lafata should all start, having only been used as substitutes against Turkey.

In the final game of a three-team tournament designed to help the USA prepare for the World Cup, the hosts take on Turkey in Philadelphia on Saturday, May 29th.
