New Falcon’s Work Ethic Home Grown

New Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson didn't have to look far for a work ethic model. as a kid growing up in Athens, he saw his father come home from working for Georgia Power out in the summer heat and winter cold. He said his dad never complained.

His mother worked in factory jobs where air conditioning was not a priority in the summertime. Mom never complained. get the idea? Robinson is now wealthy, actually make that wealthier. He was a first round pick of the Houston Texans in 2004 out of the University of South Carolina. He just signed a big free agent deal with the team he pulled for as a kid.

The first thing he did was buy his parents a house and a car. He's not the first athlete to do that. He wouldn't be the first to squander his new wealth, but you get the idea from listening to him, that's probably not going to happen. He told his parents one of the first things he would do when he made it was start a little league football team in Athens. He's already done that.

He told assembled onlookers, including family, he's here to help the Atlanta Falcons win and win big. If he accomplishes that, he'll not only be wealthy, but adored in his home state.

Robinson is known to punish receivers who come his way. That's a welcome change from game, but smallish corners who battled big receivers for the likes of Super Bowl champion new Orleans the past few years. If Brian Williams is healthy, that gives Atlanta two experienced corners who relish the challenge of covering the number one and two guys for the other side. Throw in the experience gained from the likes of Brent Grimes and Christopher Owens, and the depth and nickel package profile takes on a different look.

We know this. If he hits a rough spot, Dunta Robinson probably won't complain. Mom and Dad would not approve.
